While browsing the digital point forums, I came across a thread about adsblacklist.
On adsblacklist you can generate a list with low paying url’s that can show up on your website (based on your keywords). I signed up with them and generated a list like that. They found 199 url’s with a low cost per click. I added these url’s to my Competitive Filter List in my Adsense control panel. Now Google will ban those low cost per click sites from my blog.
It is January now, we just passed the middle of it. A quick review of my blog earnings and traffic so far in January.
Visist: 5,176
Pageviews: 10,523

Google Adsense: $ 7,56
Amazon: $ 0,-
The top commentators list has 7 spots now. I created 2 extra spots because of all the replies this blog gets lately. Thank you for that.

That’s an impressive 288 unique visitors a day Nomar, spectacular work from your side!
Making less than $10 from 10,00+ pageviews is measly though, but i’m not blaming you on this for sure, a big part of your referral cake must be from John Chow’s blog, who use simillar Adsense formats, hence the low CTR rate i assume.
As for the CAF, I’m using right now, i have discovered it can hurt your earnings if you filter out too many advertisers cause then you’ll get advertisers that pay even less. (you have an adding limit of “only” 200 advertisers)
Anyway, I’m wholeheartdly happy for you for your success so far,

I am getting 20 % of my traffic from John Chow. That is because I am in the top commentators list
But that is not a too big part of my referral cake !!
I don’t know how to make any more money with my google adsense, because these spots I am using are the best I think.
Hmm, I will check my further adsense earnings, if it is not getting any better, I will delete 150 of the links I added in the CAF.

I used the list John Chow published a while back of sites to add to the AdSense “blacklist”.
I need to go through it and make some changes though.

I forgot to ask, How do your Google Analytics pageviews match up with your AdSense impression numbers? Using that information you can figure out how many of your readers are using adblock software.

How has TLA worked out as far as traffic is concerned?

Hmm I don’t know Steve, I have to check that. I did not know people could use adblock software, did not think about that.
Ryan, I will post about that tomorrow

Hey Nomar, thought about joining BlogAds and getting into one of the financial-web dev. networks. Although 278 is a bit low for this kind of program, finance blogs seem to get more attention and advertisers.
Cheers,

I agree with Allen. I’ve heard the same thing (re BlogAds and financially-focused blogs). Same seems to apply with AdSense and consumer electronics. When I wrote about some CES stuff, I had a nice eCPM. But it was for larger ticket items such as TVs, Blu-Ray, etc.

I just dropped BlogKits too.
