As you may know, I am busy with selling 1 of my domain names: PokerAlive.com. I can say there is progress in the sale. I received a offer for it, 400,- Eur. And I putted it up for auction at Sedo. Sedo is a big company that sells domains for you. They have more than 300,000 members around the globe. And have a volume of sales of more than 3,000,000 USD a month.
This poker domain gets around 1,000 unique visitors a month and already generated $ 1,20 in revenue while it was parked on Sedo (for about 10 days). I received around 10 offers on forums for this domain, but only 3 of them were serious (above $ 100,-). As you can see I am not selling this name in $ dollars, but in Euros. This is because my main currency is Euro.
I hope the name will get some more competition on Sedo, so the price will get higher. I will keep you updated on how the progress is going. I don’t know either, because this is my first sale true Sedo. After the whole progress I will write a good article on how this domain parking + selling works. And what you can do to let it work better.

I find by posting your sale at webhostingtalk.com and sitepointforums.com will help with getting some other interested buyers.

Good article. I never sold my domains through sedo, usualy just forums… May be I should try… I have a site in progree that I do not have time to finish - http://www.fat64.net, I wonder how much I can sell it through sedo. I get many unique visitors too since my site is listed first on google for many search queries… I guess we’ll be waiting for the next article.
Thanks.

I’m happy you wrote on this Nomar! I’ve always wondered how well domain reselling works and will definitely follow you up on this post. I have a domain I’ve been hanging onto because of a Linux side project I was working on.. minipvr.com, unfortunately I don’t have the time or finances to work on the project anymore. I noticed a while back that someone had minidvr.com up for sale on sedo for $3K (US). Your article is motivating to see what is possible. Can’t wait for the next one.

Any idea where does the traffic for the domain come from? Just wondering how useful that really is for the possible buyer.

The traffic is from the site I had on it for a few months. A poker related site
