The traffic that my blog gets from search engines is not much, it is 7 % at this moment and it is from Google, Yahoo and MSN. My blog is on the web since 4 months and got a pagerank 4 with a decent amount of backlinks. Traffic is not disappointing either. While checking my referral statistics I see the keyword phrases that got me the most search engine traffic. The idea for posting these keyword phrases came from my friend Lithman. I will give you a few phrases that delivered me the most visitors from search engines.
.htacces redirect: I know the word htaccess is wrong spelled. This was not a smart mistake, it made me look not professional, but it got me ranked on spot 14 at Google. And this keyword phrase ranks high in my top phrases that bring in the most visitors. So I will not correct it here. If I am going to talk about it in the future I will correct it ofcourse.
Redirect to WWW: This keyword phrase brings almost the same amount of visitors in as the keyword phrase mentioned above. These two are from the same post. It looks like people are interested in how to redirect your domain to WWW.
Get more visits to my blog: A topic everybody wants the answer on. People want to get their blog well visited and will search for this keyword phrase. This is my favorite one.
LLL.in domains: This has to do with my domain business. I like domaining and I recently bought some LLL.in domains (only 2) and I have a premium NNN.in domain. I hope to sell my NNN.in domain for some big cash in the future. All NNN.in domains are sold out months ago. It is already worth more than reg fee.
Top commentator: This two keywords ranks at number 4 at Google. It is because I have installed the top commentators plugin some time ago. It is working great and brings the blog community more alive.
Now you know where I get some traffic from. I would love to see other bloggers post their keyword phrases that brings in some traffic for them.

When I posted about Superbowl XLI Commercials RIGHT AFTER the Super Bowl was over, I received a ton of hits from Google. My traffic spiked tremendously. This probably would have been something great to blog about, but I was out of town and out of sorts that weekend.
Regardless, typing in “Superbowl XLI Commercials” in Google put me as the 6th result. The day after, I fell to something like 54…and then off (or at least I couldn’t find it).

It’s always good to see where your traffic is coming from. After all, then you can learn what to focus on and grow.

Thanks for the post, Nomar. These are each great tips. I know about using incorrectly spelling to get rankings, but hadn’t thought that broadly - focused more on specific key phrases. That will now change. Thanks.

Can you tell me what you use to track your incoming search engine traffic? I’m setting up a new blog and I’m not sure which is best. Thanks.
