A few days ago I got contacted by a guy that wanted to buy links in a post I did 1,5 month ago. The post he was talking about had a pagerank of 3, and was getting some traffic from search engines. That is why he wants to buy some links in that post. He didn’t want me to add his anchor text with his url to it, but he wanted me to edit some good keywords like Webdevelopment, SEO, Business and add his url to the keyword.
I did what he asked and added his url to some good keywords. He was paying me $ 60,00 for those 10 keywords, in a post that is no longer on the front page, buried in the archives.
This way of link building was new to me, and maybe also to you. But when I thought better about it, it might actually work. He is buying good keywords on a pagerank 3 page. It has already been indexed by the search engines and get some traffic from it. It will help his rankings.
Now the question. Is Google going to penalize his site? Because he is not link building for more traffic or exposure but only for links.

I would be more worried about my archives value and how much readers would trust me if I suddenly started adding sponsored links to posts. Google penalties is not something anyone of us can fully understand.

$60 for a couple of links on an old page is a good deal!

Congrats on the transaction. Whenever free money falls in your lap you should take advantage of it. I don’t see this as a bad move on your part. Hopefully we get approached in the same manner.

While Allen and Ryan have valid points…”oooo oo…take the money and run”, and then just don’t do it again.

I don’t think it’s all that different than what Blogsvertise and PayPerPost do. In fact, it’s better, because you don’t have to write a whole new post surrounding their URL, just one buried in your archives that you had already composed and forgot about.

I agree with michael. That’s a much better method this one and can generate more revenue.

[…] This is a nice technique that will bring in targetted visitors and increase SEO juice. KingNomar.com explains that somebody came across one of his old blog posts when searching for a specific item on Google, this person then contacted King Nomar and offered $60 if he linked some of the text in the post to his sites. The fact that old blog posts get indexed by Google and can slowly increase pagerank shows just how valuable blogs like wordpress are. […]
