4 days ago I got on the frontpage of digg.com. This was a great experience. I tried many times to make it to the frontpage, but I failed time after time. For the readers that do not know about what story I am talking about, here is the link to my domain sale article. The article got dugg over 300 times. It is not a top story but I made it to the frontpage :)!!
Traffic: This is an interesting thing to share with you. It gave me 5,000 visitors in a few hours. After that it was gone fast. But I think some people will stick around if I may believe the statistics from the last 3 days. The RSS Readers exploded to 144, this was really cool, but as I expected its back on what it was before (a little bit higher though).
Money: On the day the story got on the frontpage of digg. I broke my daily adsense record. It is now at $ 10,79. I can’t wait to break this record again.
Writing the domain article was time consuming. But it was worth it (big time). I am hearing it everywhere: “Writing good content is very important”. Now I know it is very true.

That’s pretty cool. I think that if you concentrate more on the content that you just might make it to the front page, as focusing on getting to the front page of Digg itself isn’t going to make your articles any better.

Nice job Nomar. The real test is with keeping as much of the readers as regulars, hope you’re doing well with that!

Those are some low numbers for a front page story.
I have had one item make the front page on Digg with over 1,000 Diggs and between Digg and StumbleUpon that article got over 60K hits. I still get hits from Digg on that one!
That article brought in $150 in one day!
Now, if I get on Digg it gets buried before reaching the home page and generates about 1,000 hits.

Great content should always come first. If you continue to give the readers what they want, the money will follow.

That’s so cool, Nomar. I’ve been having a little more luck with Digg as well. However, I cannot say that I’ve had one post with more than 8 Diggs.
I’m working on that record. Congrats on the 2 achievements!

Good job on the Digg, I remember coming back several times to your site and just kept seeing the number climb. The only crappy thing with Digg traffic is that they are here for only one article.

That’s awesome..to what HMTKSteve said, the number of hits might also depend on when his post hit the front page.

Hey Nomar,
Long time no talk! I’ve been really busy but I am glad to see that you are doing well. I love digg, it is a really great site.
