It is true that if you want to succeed in blogging you need to be real passionate about it. I disagree with the term: “If you blog for money, you will not succeed”. I will be honest with you. I started this blog just to make money. Before I started this blog, I was reading other blogs like ProBlogger and John Chow. These blogs are the bigger blogs around the net, and these guys are making lots of money from it.
When I started this blog I was focussed on how to get lots of money in a short time. But that is almost impossible. When you just start you don’t have visitors or indexed pages. You don’t have traffic at all. Traffic brings in the money.
At this moment I have a real passion for blogging. I don’t post everyday to make lots of money. I do it because I like it, I build a passion for blogging. It is very satisfying to see the traffic statistics from the last day. To see your traffic growing.
Blogging also requires dedication. If you post every day, you will have to come up with a new post every day. If you are feeling sick? Who cares? You have to post. I barely ever say something about my private life. People are not interested in me on the web, and I know that, but they are interested in the things I do online and how I make my money online. I even had a funeral two weeks ago, but I posted just like every other day. To run a successful blog, you need to be dedicated and strong.

Nomar - I can really see your passion now. You’ve been pumping out content like a madman! Keep it up - it’s motivating me to start turning it up myself!

I think my made a huge mistake in the beginning of my blog making a post about the actress keira knightley. My Blog is now in many search results for her, so I try to continue that theme. Truth be told, it has become fun for me to think of ways to mention her name in my posts.
However, if it was not for PayPerPost, I would have closed my blog long ago. I don’t think I have great passion for blogging.

My problem is, I don’t have enough quality content to write. I’ll go on hiatus for a week or so until I actually have something to write about. I don’t know how some guys can pump the content out so furiously

Nomar, you speak it like a leader should. There’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll make money online.
You already experiencing things that make some of us a bit envious. Except, prouder to be part of good friendship.
We talked about this before. You’re doin it, mate! Keep up the great work. Passion to Succeed…

I’ve only been reading your blog for just over a month and I have definitely seen a huge increase in your passion and determination because its coming out through your posts.

I did not mention this before, so I figured I should. I agree with everyone above Nomar. As of late, I really see that you are posting more, and have enthusiasm in your posts.
As I eluded to before, I never made my blog about SEO, web development, and making money online. From the start is was about other topics.
To some degree, I do dig into my personal life sometimes, certainly more than you, but I never go deep. I realize most people don’t care about that stuff, but, in all reality, I think that if you truly are a passionate blogger, you will use your blog to vent, and cool down sometimes. Looking for that 1 comment to cheer you up.

I think you should create a passion for your reviews, too… I can’t say I’ve finished reading any of them yet.
March 9th, 2007 at 4:52 pm
Haha, I will keep that in mind with the next on Ryan

Passion or not, you really just have to post everyday. You can’t just stop there. You have to post something that people might want to read every day. I think John Chow has gotten away from that somewhat. I stop in on his blog every once in awhile, but he hasn’t had a really good post in awhile. There have been a lot of reviews (of garbage) lately and I have seen waaay too many AGLOCO posts too. This kind of stuff is going to eventually lose traffic. His tips for blogging are why I read the blog occasionally, but they only come around about once a week now.

It’s really very important to post every day, and of course allways good content. Many times we need full force to post every day, like everything in life, there is “bad days”, and is specially in that days that the “full force” is needed.

I hope ReviewMe relaxes their rules when they run their next promotion because when John recieves 10 reviews on the last day of a promo, and he has to post them on his blog within 3 days its just tough. They were spaced out as best as he could.

This was definitely the case for me too, Nomar. I’ve definitely deveoped more of a passion for writing. You can tell when I’m throwing something up, and when I’ve put my thought and effort into a post, which is the case more often than not.

You have done it so far Nomar. Now it is the art with keeping up with it.

You absolutely can succeed if your goal is simply to make money. Passion just makes it infinitely easier.
If you love to write, it won’t be such a chore to blog.
If you write about things you’re really jazzed about, that will come across in your posts.

It feels like I am addicted. I am constantly trying to think of new things to write about, new ways to promote the site etc.
