As you can read in the title, I am planning to buy a LLL.net domain. A LLL.net domain stands for letter-letter-letter.net domain. these kind of domains are all sold out a long time ago and the resell value is high. For a cheap LLL.net domain I pay $ 800, for a quality LLL.net it is more than $ 1,000. But do you think it is worth to buy a LLL.net domain? instead of registering a new one for less money?
Why a LLL.net domain? It is damn easy to remember, people will remember the name and return. You can also say it to another person and that person will also remember the domain name. I am just not sure what to do. I almost have the money together and am really thinking of buying one. What would you do ?? ![]()

Nomar,
Be careful with LLL.net names. As you probably know, I’ve been in “domaining” for a little while now and have done quite a bit of research. You risk buying LLL.net names because they aren’t in such demand as LLL.com (and all of LLL.com are sold out, pretty much impossible to get). If you think sometime or another that someone or some business will want that LLL.net then take a chance. But I’d rather take a chance buying .net names that are available for stock price instead of buying currently owned ones for $800+
Also, don’t buy domains with numbers in them. It decreases value, and usually aren’t in demand by the public.
By all means, if you think it’s a good investment go for it and let us all know how it turns out. I personally try to stick with .com names with generic terms.

@ Gregg, fyi LLL = letter letter letter, so it won’t contain any numbers .
Nomar, good luck finding your LLL.net, i’m sure you’ll get a good one .

Vlad,
I know LLL means letter letter letter..I just wanted to point out that names with numbers in them are less valuable

The domain value in this days is decreasing alot. 2-3 years ago it was very big market for good earnings. In this days you still can win money with domains, but we need the best of luck!

True Jonix, the market is chancing.. the best domains are sky rocket high.

It’s certainly a gamble, and not a cheap one at that.

Now if only they open up .XXX domains…

LLL.net will definitely have value in future. The current price for a LLL.com is around the xxxx region and above. When people find out that they just can’t afford a .com, they will go for the net.

Have you made a decision on this yet ? I’d be interested to see the outcome of this…would be a cool case study if you got it.

No, I think I will not buy a LLL.net
It is too expensive, maybe in the future
