Legal? or not legal? Last few months there was a lot of discussion about arbitrage, is it legal to get cheap traffic and let them click on higher paying ads (if you are doing it right)? Some people are even banned because of doing arbitrage! This is something I don’t want to experience, I am just experimenting with it.
I made a small site about cars and put 1 useful article on it. Than I added some adblocks on top and on the bottom and registered at adwords. A while ago my creditcard arrived and yesterday I tried it for the first time! My maximum CPC is currently set at € 0,04. This is around $ 0,05 or $ 0,06.
With the keyword tool in your adwords admin panel you can find thousands of keywords that might be suitable for your site, I added a few thousand and things are looking good currently. I made a 40 % profit of what I spend with my creditcard. It is only a few dollars, but at least it is profit!

The maximum amount that adwords can spend on my creditcard is set at € 10, but this is too much, I am only spending like € 1 a day, but maybe this is just the first day. I am doing this for 1 week and than I will look if it was all worth it. Maybe I will continue on this small scale, or maybe quit the whole adwords campain. I would like to know what your opinion is about arbitrage and did you ever tried it yourself?

Making a profit is always nice, especially when you are experimenting with something new. I keep reading about arbitrage, and I keep seeing people making a profit. Maybe I need to give it a try.

Shouldn’t your adwords link in the article be an aff link so you get credit when people sign up?

I agree with Martin, but I like having legit return readers. Knowing that I’m posting something worth their time to come back and read.

wait you said you’re only spending 1 euro a day and you made a 40% profit…… So you made 1.4 euro yesterday?
(i never was that good with math, BTW)

Did you choose (only) one niche? My experience is that 1 on 4 niches or so is profitable. So if it won’t work.. don’t quit, but just try another niche en start over again.

Yeah, Matt. If he spent 1 Euro, he’d profit .4 Euro, so that’d leave him with 1.4 Euro.

Not a bad idea, I guess.

Thanks Jacob!
Fair assumption then after you figure out your average earnings, that your earnings would be a function of your spendings? Spend big to earn big?

hmm i’m interested to see how this is going to work out for you. i think google will ban you only if you just have ads on your site. if you include some content under the ads you should be ok… so i hear…
do you read the boards on forums.digitalpoint.com? you can find tips and information there, you can also search to see what users have been banned from adsense for arbitrage. people who get banned by google usually like to complain about it on digitalpoint

That idea seems legit enough

Yeah all ideas seem legit and like good money makers until the Google gods come down and smite you, and take away your adsense account.
