It looks like people are getting nervous because of no pagerank update. If the pagerank update will never come again, you can never get a PR 6 or PR 7 domain anymore. A lot of people are now trying to get high pagerank domains, I don’t know why because if the PR will never update again its pretty much useless. While browsing on Digital Point I saw this:

All threads asking for domains with pagerank (WTB = Want To Buy). The marketplace on digital point is BIG, too big for me. If you create a new thread to sell sitewide links for example it is gone in 1 hour to the second page, which is very frustrating. But the marketplace still works and will always be working ofcourse. Too bad my marketplace is not that active
What is your opinion about this run on domains with pagerank? useless? or valuable?

I tried Digital Point once, but my listing disappeared way too fast like you said.

So is that saying that all sites created after the last page rank are screwed? I’m slightly amused by this because Fleeingthesocialscene has gotten quite a few links from PR 5 or greater sites.
Also assuming PR is done, what good is link juice anymore? Let’s run with the idea a second and so we’re saying PR doesn’t matter but lets all get crazy about our search engine rankings because that may be all that matters.

The pagerank will definitely update again. I hate how people care about it so much
I’ll admit i used to in the past but learned theres no point

Yeah, I just got a PR3 domain that was 3 years old for $10.
I think there is always a market for domains with PR. I want a few more to start some web directories. You can charge more money for frontpage listings if you have a nice PR.
And DigitalPoint is not as bad as you say. You just need to pick the right times to place things, and the right places to place them. I have sold countless domains on there, but only because I wanted to sell them fast and cheap. Nothing beats SitePoint if you want to sell a good domain/site for a decent price.

The only reason we care about Page Rank is because advertisers care about Page Rank.

Thank you HMTKSteve!
Well, also, my wallet cares about PageRank as the better the PageRank you have, the more $$$ you get.

I agree with that. Anything that can increase the value of your site like PR is important.

I think pagerank will still be used, just not shown publicly.

Martin and Steve pretty much hit it on the head. PR matters because it’s acceptable for the men to compare page rank in public.
Then it becomes of even greater importance because and advertiser can come over to the guy with the better PR and go “So I overheard you say your page rank is higher than his? What will it cost me to use your site for say a month?”
The bigger the page rank, the more money you can make.

I like DP. Granted, it is hard to get something listed, but I really do like it. As for PR domains…If Google doesn’t update soon, PR will be useless.

This is a joke!
lol well spotted! It would make sense for Google to stop showing public PR. I wonder what all those PR crazy people will do though…
