Being up to date on certain topics is very important for bloggers and other web developers. You should know what the current changes are in the niche you are working in. Also know how the market is acting on certain topics and products. If you stay at the same level all the time you will loose readers and people that will buy your products.

Good places to keep up to date with the latest news in the web development business and other online webmaster related businesses are the popular forums. Digital Point is a very big forum with a lot of activity, if something new is happening or coming up you will find it here. I am checking this forum almost everyday for news on Google, good deals in the marketplace or for some marketing tactics. Another good forum is Namepros, a domain name forum. I am very interested in the domain market, so this is also a place I check on a daily basis. In the future I hope 9mb will become a place like these forums :)

Social Bookmark sites are also a great way to get the latest news. The hottest news is (almost) always on top of these sites and you will be redirected instantly to the hot story. The social bookmark sites I use are Digg, Stumble Upon, Reddit and Netscape.

Paper Work

TechCrunch, John Chow and Problogger are also good to have in your RSS Reader. These blogs are updated a lot and will show you the latest news and hottest products to talk about. Ofcourse don’t copy these posts but tell your readers about it in your own words!

These are my main ways to keep up to date and keep up with the new topics!
