From today I will no longer serve Google ads on this blog. The Google ads are not bringing in enough money to let them stay. Last month it only brought in $4,55 which is very low! The next week I will think about other possibilities for this spot. Maybe I am putting a small affiliate banner at the spot, or sell it to a private advertiser.

A month ago I would never take away the Google ads from my blog, I still don’t know why I was thinking that way. I bet I can sell that spot to a private advertiser for at least $50 a month. Or make $50+ a month with affiliates. The ad will appear on 325 pages and will sure drive some traffic! I’ll keep you updated about this. Interested parties can mail me
This will not be my only post today, don’t worry. I am writing a post about Search Engine Ranking as we speak!

Great move.
I too recently quit using Google Adsense, although for different reasons.
The 100 dollars withdrawal limit is simply way too high, and it is not convenient that they only pay via check.
I tried applying to YPN, but I eventually went with Bidvertiser, which I find to be much more convenient.
Great move.

@Alec P,
At least for me, being in the United States, Google will pay via Electronic Deposit right to my checking account.
@Nomar,
I’ve never looked for alternatives to Google Adsense. I just recently finally reached $100, and I am on pace to reach it in a 3rd of the time so far. A 3rd of the time being 3-4 months.
What I like about Google Adsense is that you don’t have to worry about it. You paste the code in, and it just works.

good man if it’s not making you any money then just remove it. It’s not worth your credibilty just to make an extra 4 bucks lol. I think affiliate banners would probably do way better. Just one referall from TLA or Payperpost would double the amount you made from google adesnse.

Google is a good company, google also is opposite for compare justice and the company that have morality, but the morality that this still cannot regard Google as can use the standard that makes cooperative contract.

Nomar, probably a good idea. I really need to clean up a few of my sites as well. Once I really review them - i think adsense might be odd man out as well.

I will likely be dropping AdSense from all of my sites by the end of September. I am tired of Google’s attitude of “AdSense publishers are criminals”. I find it increasingly irratating that Google sees not paying for invalid clicks as a good business practice.
I am all for dumping people who participate in click-fraud but what constitutes an invalid clock? What if someone follows a Google ad and finds that where they end up is a crap site and so they leave? Why should I be penalized if traffic that comes from my site does not convert? If my traffic is that bad then just block me from your AdWords page.
This month I have been tracking 100’s of clicks a day going to AdSense yet Google tells me less than 20 clicks are being generated every day! My stats and Google’s stats have always been within 10% of each other and now they are not even within 99% of each other!
Right now I am looking into affiliate programs that match my content and using them instead of AdSense. I’m also switching over to AdBrite which gives a lot more information than AdSense does! AdBrite tells me who’s ads are showing up on my site and allows me to disallow advertisers if I want to.
What’s that I have shown your ad 10K times with zero clicks? So long, you will not be on my site any more!
At first I thought it was just the summer slow down now I think it is something else. Yes, I blogged about this…

Yes Steve, I am also looking at CJ.com for good affiliates

I think we cannot depend upon one source of income. We have to try different alternatives so if one does not work we have the different option.

Adsense tends to do horrible on personal blogs, I’ve found. I still use them for any niche site I run as they perform well there, but as for my personal site, I switched over to TLA. I don’t have to do anything other than making sure I have the code installed correctly, which I love

Nomar, you might want to check out MaxBounty’s affiliate network as well. Check out this MaxBounty review for some more info.
