You can have good search engine rankings but people still might not buy from you. The reason for that is that your website might not be trustworthy. Very important to create trust is a professional web design. There are more things that are necessary to convince your visitors that they should do business with you! In this post I am going to mention the most important factors:
Show your visitors who you are

It is amazing how many online businesses do not list their postal addresses or phone numbers. Visitors might think these businesses got something to hide! If your visitors don’t know who you are and where you live they are always staying a visitor and not turn into a customer! If you are serious about your business, show your visitors that you have nothing to hide.
Show how you are different
Why should someone buy from you and not from one of your competitors? What distinguishes you from the rest? In the future I want to become active in the SEO business. When I do that I will make sure my selling page stands out from the rest. For example, I will list that I only use ethical seo methods and not use any blackhat tactics!
Show your visitors how you are different and why they should use your products or services instead of your competitors’.
Show testimonials from satisfied customers
Your visitors want to know sure you are a serious business. If other customers bought your products or used your services before, than it is less risky for new visitors to try them out! Visitors don’t like risks and don’t want to loose money on crappy products or services. After they read testimonials from satisfied customers you have a bigger chance that they buy from your business.
Show guarantees

Guarantees will help you to sell more. As mentioned above, visitors don’t like risks. For example, give your visitors the ability to test your products for free the first 5 days. Show your visitors that you are 100% sure that your products or services really delivers.
Give strong guarantees so that your visitors can only win if they buy your products. You can even guarantee money back if the buyer is not satisfied.
Conclusion
It is very important to have a trustworthy website if you want to sell your products or services on the web. Show your visitors that your business is serious and real and that they can trust you!

A good post. I do most of these subjects on my site as well, although I will soon need to add testimonials, and a ‘how is this different’, on the site. Thanks for the suggestions.

Really nice post. IMHO, main point is second one from your post: Why should someone buy from you and not from one of your competitors? What distinguishes you from the rest?
All contact info, testimonials, guarantees meen nothing if you do not have appealing product or service.
