Today I decided to leave BlogRush. According to their stat sytem this blog made 2,900 impressions and my current credit balance is 290! The traffic I got from BlogRush in 6 days is 1 visitor which is far from impressive. I decided to delete it because I think it is another pyramid scheme for getting traffic to your blog. Only the big refferers will benefit from BlogRush in my eyes.
The mails BlogRush was sending also made me thinking of what the hell I did with the BlogRush widget on my blog. In these mails BlogRush was telling us to make catchy titles for our blog posts (like we don’t know that). This was one of the reasons the click through rate (CTR) is amazing low!
Another reason why the CTR is amazing low (according to the mail) are cheaters. People that are abusing the system by placing the widget in a invisible spot (for example a 0 x 0 iframe). They said they would review the blogs manually to check if everthing is going legal. If they do that I think they will be finished reviewing in 2010, as they stated they have served over 40 million blog posts already.

In the admin panel of BlogRush they also state that everyone is earning bonus credits but they are not yet reflected in your statistics.. ehh why not? Why are they saying this? I don’t get it. I also wonder how they are going to make money from BlogRush. Only thing possible is selling credits? Or this is just an addon for the big income dot com network that will be released and the money will come from there !?
The hype around BlogRush was is big and will stay big. The thing I learned from this system is not to hop on every new product that is coming out and the big guys talk a lot about. Any other thoughts about BlogRush? Love to hear some!

I haven’t seen any traffic come from the BlogRush widget either…May have to remove it as well. I might just keep it up another week to see if there’s any improvement. I can’t even view my reports when I log into the BlogRush website :-\

I think in a month blogrush will be good, but since it grew way to fast, and is so easily cheated, it was doomed to bad press.
I would say try it again in a few months.

I gotta keep BlogRush ’cause you just can’t jump off the bandwagon as soon as it gets a little bumpy.
That would be like quiting a blog after a week since nobody subscribed to my blog.
Nomar, I think you gotta let it mature a little. Would you have quit adsense only after a week for this reason of no clicks?

I’m probably going to leave as well. Even with the promised improvements, it doesn’t seem that great yet.

Jim, you are right about the adsense thingy, but if I know it was like this, I never started the adsense ads on my blog!
I think I made the right decision ! No blogrush for this blog ! I am 80 % it will not benefit!

I also left them…it is a good way to get people out of your site and not worth it from the result

I’m going to stick it out a little longer. I’m starting to get some decent traffic. I’ve had 50 people sign up on my link. It’s pretty simple to delete if I decide later it’s not creating traffic. I think once they get the kinks worked out, it’ll be a nice source of traffic.

I also am not using this program. Just don’t see it catching on.

When I saw Jeremy, John Chow and other bloggers blog about it, I though about trying it out too, but I said “Hey dude! just wait”. Something inside me told me to be patient. I e-mailed some good friends of mine and asked for their opinions on it. They all said to wait and see what will happen. In some webmaster forums, people claim that Google consider Blogrush as an artificial way of generating traffic, so that stepped me back. Another thing is that I didn’t want to hurt my design since you can’t customize the look of the widget to fit in your site.
Nomar, I think you’ve learnt something new that is jumping the first is not clever.

Thanks Rajab for that comment, and yes, I learned something new

The Swiss_Mouse got a (1) visitor from Blogrush.
Now he is not quite so lonely….
However he is undecided on future participation.
A reworking of Cheddarblog is coming up…blogrush may or may not make the cut.
