Pagerank is updated and it was not positive for most people. A good pagerank is hard to get again and that makes it more valuable. But Google don’t want us to sell links anylonger, so why am I talking about value here? I think it is time for a better system than pagerank.
Aaron Wall is coming up with some good points:
- Since Google is demoting PageRank’s viability as a site’s global authority score perhaps this is a time for Yahoo to bring back WebRank, or Ask to launch something like CommunityRank. The Google-webmaster relationship is fraying. This presents an opportunity for whoever wants to take it.
To come back at the recent pagerank update. This blog went down from 5 to 4. My friends Nate and David also went down from pagerank 5 to 4, so I guess it is normal.
Jacob from Dorm Earning also came up with a nice post about the recent pagerank update which is worth reading
My webmaster forum got a pagerank 3 which is decent. I will now start to monetize the forum and trying to get it really active!
I hope that someone will come up with a better system than pagerank very soon! One that gives real value to a site and is not very “gameable”

I doubt that PageRank will ever go away. People use Google, and Google uses PR. Ignore PageRank and you ignore the traffic that Google is sending your way.
Besides that, it seems to me the whole lets get rid of PR thing surfaced now that a lot of the big names got the sharp end of the stick. A few voices where calling for some algorithm changes before but now that everyone is seeing their PR down they call foul play by google.
