The well known selling and parking service for domains called Sedo is not that popular under the average user. A while back I made a post about the process of a domain sale at sedo. This post was hit to the digg frontpage and is still receiving search engine traffic today. There are currently 60 comments on that post and the most comments are from users that are not happy with the service sedo is providing.
I managed to sell only 1 domain there and I have to agree that they reply very slowly, but I didn’t had any problems with the transfer of the domain or getting the money. A lot of people that are commenting on that post are getting offers on their domains but not receiving any money if they agree to sell at the placed bid.
Fake bids are not funny!

The problem is that to much people are making fake bids just for fun. They are not serious about it and Sedo has to take action on that, but they are not doing that. When you receive a $10,000 bid you will jump 10 feet into the air, but after some time you realize it is fake, it will make you very pissed.
Sedo is a very popular service in the domain industry and I also have around 20 domains parked with them. Those domains are bringing in 2-3 dollars a month in parking revenue which is nothing.
Sedo has to take action!
Sedo has to take action on fake bidders, this is very frustrating and will only take time and money. I read on other domain forums that people are moving on to other services like Bodis. This is a new service from a top domainer and I have to agree that this service brings in more money with parking than Sedo does. I have like 10 domains parked with Bodis and earning more with them than they ever did with Sedo.

I have some domains I want to sell, where should I go?

HMTK - DigitalPoint or NamePros which are free, SitePoint costs $5 for a domain listing.
I hate Sedo, and I have not had any luck with them selling my domains. The best place for me has always been DigitalPoint.
When I received a $1000 bid from some guy when I was selling my last site, I was so happy. Then after I found out he was just trying to get my bank account number, I was very mad.
Thanks for the Bodis link, I will check it out.

Great information. Do you consider domain parking to be a key part of the equation for domain sales, or do you focus more on the sale than parking?

I have found in my personal experience that it seems a system that allows fake bids to be placed actually benefits SEDO. I placed two domain name names in their paid featured listings (for 70 dollars each), and accepted offers within a week. Well, six weeks later I finally figured out they were fake, but guess what?,- the term for the paid listings had expired and I had to pay 70 dollars each again to re-feature the names. Sedo made good money on that deal! It is obvious that they benefit from this system.
