This post is a review about the Abaculus web directory! This is not a normal web directory, but it also has a blog where it gives away website reviews! A blog is a very good extra for a web directory. With a blog abaculus is able to attract way more visitors than the average normal directory.

The thing that caught my eye when I first entered the directory was the blue. This is really not matching with the rest of the brown “classic” design. The blue is standing out to much in my opinion! The blog is also a whole different design, it looks like a different site to me, which is not good! If I can give an advice to the admin I would match the blog with the directory and give the blue another color!

Lets analyse some of the statistics! It is a 10 month old directory with a pagerank 3. In the graph below you see the alexa of the last six months. It looks like it was much more active 4 months ago and it could use a jump in traffic now! Hope this review will help

The backlink part is good. It is holding more than 3,000 backlinks which makes it a strong directory! If you want a good backlink this is a good place to be!

This is not just a web directory where you can submit your link to. It also has a small bidding place on the left of the site! Very nice addon if you ask me! If this site will be a little bit more popular I guess it will be a nice earner!

Conclusion: Web Directories are still in business and will remain in business for a long time if you ask me!
