Several different topics would have worked for today’s article, but it looks like another series of “heads ups” will serve you best. A few problems with Google Analytics have been reported (and confirmed), and the Yahoo Publisher Network has been paying out a little less than was fair.
The first and most obvious issue has to be what some people perceived as a complete inability to log into Google Analytics. There’s nothing users can do about this, but Google is at least aware of the issue.
Then, as Barry Schwartz reports, “Google Analytics has been reporting to some users that their tracking code is not installed. But the reality of it is, the tracking code for those sites are installed properly and Google Analytics is actually tracking data and reporting on that data. So the message is incorrect and the tracking code for some of these sites are indeed installed correctly.”
Again, Google knows. And the third of the three Google Analytics problems is that some city-related information is getting duplicated within reports.
As for the Yahoo Publisher Network setback, it, too, stemmed from a simple error. Yahoo’s put (or at least in the process of putting) things to right already, so if you’ve noticed anything different about your payment amounts lately, just sit tight.

Hopefully Google will soon take action as Google analytics is important tool for most website owners.

I have switched from analytics recently to a stat program in beta, hopefully it will be much better.

I was getting the tracking code not installed “error”. Not really an error because data was coming through, but whatever.
