When I first saw tophosting.us for sale on 1 of the forums I am active on, I thought: What the hell, such a good domain name for only 8 dollars ?? So I posted “SOLD” in 5 seconds. And the domain name was mine.
I checked some sites searching for the term tophosting. And it seems that the most decent extensions are all taking with this 2 keywords. Taken are:
- tophosting.com
- tophosting.net
- tophosting.org
- tophosting.info
- tophosting.biz
- tophosting.mobi
- tophosting.eu
- tophosting.de
And I noticed that the tophosting.de was for sale at Sedo. And it had already received 7 offers. So I guess this is a popular name in the webhosting business.
I guess it is at least worth more than the price I paid for it ( $8 ). I also asked on some forums and people appraised it into the low to mid XXX. This means between the $ 100 and the $ 500.
At the moment I am developing this domain name in a small site. Call it a minisite. To test its potential. What do you think its worth?

It’s hard to know precisely at the minute. All I know is the more work you put into developing the tophosting.us brand the more it will be worth in the future.

I think it’s better to do some preliminary research before investing too much time in developing the site. If you have tough competition, maybe it would be better to sell the domain for a good price.
