This is a very nice plugin for wordpress. My visitors and true commentators will get a backlink on my frontpage. These links are real links, without a nofollow tag. So it is even good for your rankings!! It is a true backlink. Comment links are not full backlinks (more info about comment links).
If you also want to install this plugin, you need to upload the single .php file into your plugin folder and activate it in your control panel. Then you need to add this code to your sidebar.php.
This is not hard at all, but if its not working for you, feel free to ask.
The Top Commentators will be cleared every month. So everybody gets a change for a free backlink. Now I installed this plugin, I hope more visitors will comment and my other commentators will comment more often.

Just installed this one myself not too long ago, I don’t quite have the user base yet (site is 3 weeks old), but I think this will be great in the long run.

Can’t get this working at all. Does it work straight away, i.e. shows the top commentators from previous weeks etc?

I saw this over on John Chow’s site the other day. I was thinking of adding this as well, but although my traffic has increased substantially, comments are limited.
